Adam holds advanced degrees in economics, policy, and technological innovation from MIT, Harvard, and Brown. Before co-founding Almond, he held strategy and operations management positions in corporate, governmental, and nongovernmental organizations across Asia, Europe, and the Americas, bringing a truly global perspective to financial technology solutions.

Yunus Sevimli

Chief Technology Officer

As co-founder and CTO, Yunus brings a unique combination of engineering expertise and business acumen to drive innovation in cross-border financial technology. With an MBA from MIT Sloan School of Management and both Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Mechanical Engineering from Johns Hopkins University, Yunus has over a decade of experience in translational research, academia, and technology startups across multiple industries. Yunus has led multiple engineering and R&D teams focused on medtech development, initiated key industry partnerships, and successfully raised capital for technology ventures. A prolific researcher and inventor, Yunus holds over a dozen peer-reviewed articles and patents across various fields, demonstrating his commitment to advancing technology for global impact.

Howard is a results-driven marketer who brings over two decades of brand management and strategy experience to the firm's digital marketing, campaigns, PR, and strategic outreach initiatives. Jeff Kern

Chief Compliance Officer

Jeff brings over two decades of experience spanning military service, IT operations, and financial compliance leadership. Beginning as a Nuclear Reactor Operator with the US Navy, he transitioned to compliance roles at Coinbase, Google's Financial Intelligence Unit, and bitFlyer, where he served as Chief Compliance Officer overseeing comprehensive AML and regulatory programs. He holds a BS in Information Technology along with CAMS and CCNA Security certifications.

With nearly two decades in the Fintech industry, Darren holds a track record of successfully building early-stage money movement businesses, scaling operations for high-growth payment products, and leading transformation of legacy operating models. Prior to joining Almond, Darren has worked at several cross-border payments companies including Visa, XE.com, Ria Money Transfer, and Western Union.
