Role Summary

The Head of Business Development and Strategic Partnerships, Americas will be accountable for driving top-line revenue growth and overall market adoption of Almond’s products and services across the Americas to support Almond’s aggressive growth targets.

This role will focus on selling Almond solutions that meet the needs of clients in specific segments such as money transfer providers, money services businesses, payment facilitators, and payment processors.

This leader will have primary responsibility to drive revenue while ensuring an optimal client experience across the client lifecycle. The role will craft sales strategies for each market and client segment, set and manage the sales outlook, closely manage the pipeline of deals across the globe, and build robust Sales Operations. Success will require close partnership with Customer Success, Product Management, Marketing, Finance, and Legal to ensure sales and business goals are met.

The selected leader must have organizational savvy and interpersonal skills to build fast rapport and credibility with clients, support and coach their team, work cross-functionally within Almond, and will be equally comfortable interacting with Almond’s leadership team. They will have a proven track record of success in fast-paced environments with a “roll-up your sleeves and get it done” mentality, and must be comfortable working across global time zones.

Responsibilities

  • Lead revenue growth across existing and new corridors — Achieve quarterly sales and revenue goals. Create a high-value pipeline for new business and support the Customer Success team with upselling to existing clients. Enable sales acceleration and prioritization of activities with high-potential client targets, use cases, and industry segments.
  • Support strategic partnership development — Identify strategic partnership opportunities across the continent to support Almond’s capability and geographic expansion. Lead the expansion into new countries and transfer corridors by nurturing client relationships and building the infrastructure to serve demand.
  • Work across departments to support the end-to-end client lifecycle — Facilitate the capture and communication of client and market feedback. Collaborate closely with Product to ensure requirements are clearly understood and delivered. Work with Marketing to improve go-to-market strategy and define the right value proposition. Partner with Legal to ensure client contracts drive successful outcomes. Closely collaborate with Customer Success to hand off the sale to the onboarding phase.
  • Support the development of new products and test with clients — Introduce new products to clients, collect feedback and analyze. Collaborate with product and engineering teams to iteratively develop new products based on client feedback and demand.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of progressively complex hunting sales within cross-border payments, money movement, FX, remittance, money transfer, or fintech sectors
  • Broad existing network of senior-level key decision makers in target sectors and prospects
  • Deep understanding of client dynamics and needs within the broader payments and money movement ecosystem
  • Previous experience with revenue management and revenue goal setting
  • Proven track record of new business solution selling, including superior sales skills combined with strong negotiation capabilities for large deals
  • Strong commercial drive with the ability to build and monetize senior client relationships based on empathy, thought leadership, and subject matter expertise
  • Strong networker with the ability to listen, build common ground, and influence to effectively advance business opportunities and generate revenues
  • A technical mindset, with prior experience selling complex, API-driven solutions
  • Comfortable working in fast-paced, ambiguous environments with the maturity to work with little supervision
  • Success-oriented and accountable for delivering key outcomes, including KPIs and revenue targets
  • Willing to travel as required

  • Solid knowledge and experience within the digital assets space
  • Strong software solution selling background

Compensation Range

Base Salary: $85,000–$100,000 USD per year

Commission: Based on signed agreements and annual corridor GMV/revenue

Equity: Attractive stock options package
